Damage to a fixed ladder can be varied, defective rungs that are covered by a layer of paint, loose or incorrect wall anchors, defective wall connections and much more.
Damage or defects are not always so obvious, damage can be hidden or avoided in advance.

Fixed ladders are unchecked in 70% of all companies.
"Preventing accidents should not be seen as a requirement of the law
but as a commandment of human obligation and economic reason. "
Werner von Siemens, Berlin 1880

Almost every company has its own representative for portable ladders and steps who are regularly checked. What about the tightly screwed high ladders, the so-called fixed fixed ladders, known as emergency ladders or escape ladders or as access to machines and high systems? Most of these are unchecked! A sad but everyday result of occupational safety. In the wind energy sector, things look completely different again; in the first few years after commissioning, the tests are secured by maintenance contracts.

A test of fixed fixed ladders is not comparable with a test of portable ladders and steps. Many factors play a decisive role there that must be taken into account and these tests should only be carried out by experienced examiners with background knowledge. If there is a fall, the first question that arises is whether the fixed ladder has been checked. If this ladder has been tested but does not comply with the applicable occupational health and safety conditions and standards, then as an entrepreneur you are responsible again. Set a sign of common sense and occupational safety.
